Wow! We have had a very busy day today at the Time and Tide Museum in Great Yarmouth.
We used our imaginations to travel back in time to help us get a better understanding of how the Romans had an impact on Britain.
During the day, we met a Roman Soldier who showed us how to defend ourselves in battle and a Roman Lady called Livia (she was very bossy!) who didn't think we would make very good servants.
We also met a friendly Druid who told us all about the Celts, we helped her make a potion, but we had to keep very quiet in case the Romans heard us!
By the end of the day we had helped the Celts fight against the Romans, it was fun.
Many of the children enjoyed painting patterns on their faces with blue woad to make themselves look fierce, which resulted in more laughter than fear!
As usual the staff from the museum were brilliant in making the day memorable for the children and reinforcing their understanding of what Roman Britain may have been like.
Thank you for your support in making these trips possible.
