Year 4 Reading Cafe and Stay and Learn Art lesson

Hi All

We would like to take this opportunity to say A Very Big Thank You to all the parents and carers who were able to attend the Year 4 Café. The children really enjoyed reciting their poetry at the start of the afternoon, followed by creating Poppy wreaths with the help of their parents and younger siblings.  

It was also brilliant to see how many parents attended our Year 4,  Stay and Learn session held in the classroom. It was a very busy, creative lesson with children and adults painting Georgia O’Keefe Poppies.  The finished paintings were amazing.  One child commented, "I didn't know my parent was so good at drawing."  While another child explained their parent couldn't talk much because they were concentrating on their painting so much". 

Many children asked if we could do more activities with parents - It was lovely to hear how proud the children were of you all, and of themselves. 

Your paintings will be part of a display outside the Year 4 classroom. A picture will follow in a couple of weeks.

Both Mrs Clouston and myself  enjoyed both activities, Thank you .
