Year 1 2024 - 2025

Welcome to our Year One classpage 

Welcome back to the start of Spring Term. We hope you have has a restful break over Christmas and are ready for a busy term full of fun new learning. We are looking forward to all of the learning we have coming up this half term, exploring plants in our biology lessons and toys through time in our history lessons. 

Reading at home

Children will be sent home with a new reading book on a Monday and Friday. Please ensure that you are listening to your child read at home every day. It is essential for their progress that they are sharing their reading books at home. 

Children will also be bringing home their RWI book on a Thursday. This must be returned by Monday so they can receive their new book. 

Things to note:

- Children will recieve a selection of homework activities at the start of each half term. These are tasks that are designied to be completed with adult help at home, so that you can join in with the childrens learning. When the children complete the activities they have selected, then they can bring their homework books into school to share all of their home learning with the class.

- PE is on Friday morning, so please ensure children are sent in with their PE uniform and appropriate clothing/footwear for the weather.
